English heirloom with dark red leaves. Used for baby leaf and fresh market. Upright leaves have best color in early spring and fall. Beautiful, dark red 'greens' are sweet and colorful in salads. More flavorful than other red accent crops for mesclun mixes. It is also heat resistant with a beet root of good eating quality. Maturity ranges from 35 days for harvesting young leaves, up to 60 days for roots.
