Pilgrim has a deeply fruity, spicy, yet unusually pleasant lemon/grapefruit aroma with flavour characteristics including verdant berries and pears.

About this Hop
With a much hoppier aroma due to its higher levels of Humulene and Challenger-like Selinene, it works well as a bittering or late aroma hop.

Breeding
Bred at Horticulture Research International (HRI), Wye College in the UK, Pilgrim was a new variety released in 2001. With its plump and oval cone structure, it is highly tolerant to wilt and has a good resistance to both powdery and downy mildews. It has excellent storage stability of the resins.
Bred at Wye College in the late 1990s and released in 2001, Pilgrim is half-sister to First Gold and sister to Herald. It is often compared to Target.
