Magnum Hops German Magnum Hop Profile This high alpha variety was bred in 1980 at Hüll Hop Research Center in Germany and is known for its extremely large and heavy cones. It produces good yields, and like many of the Hüll varieties, Hallertauer Magnum has a high tolerance to disease. Brewing Application: Bittering. Magnum is known for contributing very smooth, clean bitterness along the lines of Nugget and Horizon. High alpha content gives excellent bittering power for any hoppy style; great for German Pilsner.
